InkSoft’s new player names & numbers Design Studio feature will be released Thursday May 24th. Thanks to all of you who provided feedback and ideas. Take a look at the final product:
I love the work flow of how you did the names and numbers. I do have a couple questions though. I see there is no option for making the numbers to be 2-color. Will this be an option soon? Also I do my names using Stahl’s Pro-block thermo-film. Will I be able to upload this font so that my names will be identical to what my customer has created? Thanks in advance.
We decided against two color for now. We will continue to enhance this. If you look at the biggest online provide of custom t-shirts–they don’t offer two color. Yes, you can access fonts!! Check out the video here to see how to get ALL fonts: https://www.inksoft.com/changelog-2-3-new-features-enhancements/
I don’t actually screen-print my names. I heat press them on using Stahl’s pre-cut names. We use their Pro-Block font. Is there a way I can upload my Pro-Block font onto Inksoft?
I have been waiting for this feature to go live before buying the inksoft package and unfortunately I will have to keep waiting. We too use pre cut transfer numbers in various font styles, and the customers are very specific with how they want their names and numbers to look. They need to match other uniforms on their team and league. Offering a choice of only 4 fonts is laughable when our competition has no limit.
These days, people think they will get exactly what they see and all this does is confuse them. As far as licensing number fonts, you already have 100’s of them for the custom designs on the front, so you need to use the same options on the back. Stahls does not own the right to their all their fonts and if it was a matter of them selling more by letting us use them, I don’t think they would have a problem. You don’t have to send vector files of their numbers to us upon checkout since it is understood that they have to be ordered from them.
Secondly, I see no way to add numbers to the front of the shirt. I have many teams that only have numbers on the front and back without graphics or names.
Please fix these changes and I will buy in. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. This is the first iteriation of this feature and we will release increased functionality. We modeled this workflow and UI after Customink dot com. Compare the two. Benchmarking a $100 million plus organiazation (your greatest competition) is a good place to start. Heck Customink dot com doesn’t even allow its shoppers to choose a font!
Why do you use pre cut names & numbers? Do you have a vinyl cutter?
Most uniform companies use Stahls. Few screen printers have the time to actually screen print individual numbers for teams. Teams need specific fonts for their numbers.Offering the same number and letter fonts on the back as you do on the front just makes sense. Offering the ability to print numbers on the front of the shirt is a must also, as well as resizing to pocket size. While you guys are advancing very well with your software, I see little point in rolling something out until it is 100%. Once it can server all my customers, I will jump in happily and market it heavily to all my customers. There are just too many limitations right now. This is all constructive by the way, as feedback is the only way you know what we all need.
Again, thanks for the feedback. As we’ve said: This the the first iteration of this tool and we expect to release more function. Based on all of our mockups and user produced feedback we feel this is well optimized. Fortunately, this is a feature that can be turned or and off–so you aren’t forced to use it if it isn’t right for your audience and production capabilities.
For those clients cutting their own names & numbers (majority) this workflow is perfect. Maybe you can ‘nudge’ the people at Shahls–there might be an opportunity to collaborate and work together. Maybe the ability to enable a ‘Stahls’ palette–which would display all the options available via Stahls?
We hope to earn your business and make you a user!
Is/will there be a way to restrict font options? Cutting names is no problem as we have a vinyl cutter, but we only carry Varsity numbers in stock and would like to only offer Varsity numbers. Otherwise, we love the functionality and simplicity. Good work!
Pricing is pulled from your print pricing AND type of art. If digital it will pull the digital print pricing for the quantity range. If you continue to have issues please reach out to our support team!
that is a great feature, how do i turn that on in my own store?
We will release a ‘how to’ guide in just a bit!

Fonts have copyright and licensing restraints. We could make ANY font available if we can get express permission for Stahl’s.

Can the colors be restricted anywhere?
We only like to offer white and black.

Not yet. You can control colors. See settings / options here: https://support.inksoft.com/knowledgebase/articles/79279-design-studio-names-numbers
We will expand these capabilities.
Since we use heat transfer numbers we need to limit the colors selected. Is this available?
Sure thing. You can select which colors will be available. See here: https://support.inksoft.com/knowledgebase/articles/79279-design-studio-names-numbers
i have my name and number pricing at $4.00 names/$2.00 numbers, but when i test it in the design studio, it come up at $5/$3 ?? how can i change that?

can there be different options for the fonts….3 of the 4 fonts all kind of look the same, and there is no pro block available? thanks
