New Online Stores Component: Countdown

In our ongoing effort to make the new Online Stores platform the most useful tool for every selling opportunity, we’re excited to announce a new component: the Countdown.

This is a section that can be added to your site to show shoppers how long the products will be available in the store. It shows time disappear second by second, encouraging customers to make the purchase now. The component is perfect for online stores that require a set timeframe for ordering, such as fundraisers.

How to add the Countdown component to your InkSoft store

To add the component to your store, toggle the Edit Mode, then go to the component library in the bottom right hand corner of the page. From there, you’ll be able to select the Countdown component, and choose from one of three styles: ticker numbers, minimalist, and scoreboard. Once added to your page, you can change its position, change the background color, and modify the text.

When you set the end date, the Countdown will update and automatically begin counting down with the remaining time. At this point, you can choose one of two options: When the time runs out, does the countdown disappear, or does the whole store stop accepting orders? The second option ensures a hard cut-off time, so you know you don’t have any stragglers submitting orders after the Countdown ends!
