I am very sorry to say I don’t like it. I have been waiting and waiting for a redesign and I know you have worked hard on this but I think you did some good things and some bad. Yes bigger is better and I like that but I don’t see any reference to “Designs” or “Templates”. Maybe it is implied with the “Add art” button but it (designs) is not right there in front of you. I really like the way the current studio displays art options and product options along side the active design area. It is more intuitive for first time users. I am really not sure if this will work out for me. As I was told when I signed up for inksoft “The art is what drives this business”, and for me it is the “previously designed” art or “Design Templates” that is critical.
Thanks for your comments. We should have mentioned that you won’t have to adopt the new version. If you like the current Design Studio you can continue to use it for a period of time. Eventually, we will phase our the current version.
As stated in the video, our goal with the new version was to simplify the interface. Having designs, clip art and saved art as separate navigational elements really complicates the flow and UI. ‘Art’ is also a universal term whereas designs and clip art could be processed as jargon to some. If you click ‘Add Art’ your customers will see three options as seen here.
We understand one design isn’t suitable to each persons unique preferences. We’ve created the new Design Studio to support ‘themes’. This means you will be able to select a look and variation that you do like. We will release themes regularly after the first version comes out.
I like the sounds of that. I understand your circumstance and appreciate your response. The options screen is a good idea but is still adds an extra step. I really like the prospect of “themes” for the Design Studio. I will wait to see the final outcome and work with it the best I can. Thank you.
Looks interesting. Excited to try it. Great that an iPad can use it. Couple questions – will there still be the design and clip art tabs on the home pages for customers to start with then be taken into the design studio? Currently these tabs are useful for customers to get started. Will there be an undo button? A lot of the time my customers try a color or effect and get frustrated with the current design studio and having to reset their design and start over if they don’t like it. When can we try the new backend?
Thanks for responding to some much needed updates guys! It looks like this is finally not flash based anymore which was a huge limitation before. Also the customers workflow appears to be much more simple.
Can we expect any feature updates in regards to the e-commerce/website solution? I’m really hoping for more flexibility there.
One more question, has there been any thought to changing the pricing model? The large upfront cost is probably a bit of a barrier for your customers to realize the value of your product. I would prefer that cost to be amortized across monthly payments. People expect easy in, easy out solutions when it comes to web apps these days. Obviously I don’t know what goes into your pricing – licensing fees etc – but thought I would throw some perspective in.
The new Design Studio will be fully embeddable! Download a mockup from the Design Studio — isn’t this dangerous so some degree? We hear so often printers bragging about how their customers bring them ‘Customink print outs’ with the art they want.
I didn’t mean downloading all the source files just the complete “mock up”.
The majority of our clients are re-sellers, not end users and we sell unique garments styles, not just run-of-the-mill t-shirts.
Currently, in order for customers to share the “mock up” of a design they need to email the design somewhere.
The social links don’t work because they just link the inksoft store url (which we don’t use) instead of embedding the “mock up” image itself.
Since we’re dealing with a lot of re-sellers, they often need to show the mock-ups to their own clients.
We consistently run into issues where our ( less than computer savvy ) clients, or their clients have trouble locating the image(s) in their email due to email security settings.
It’d be nice if we could just skip that step and let them download the mock-up directly from the studio.
Over-all, we have no use for the store at all, we’re just using the design studio.
I would very much like to read/see some demos on offset printing/art canvas wrap (posters). Possibly something that leans more towards Vistaprint.com/zazzle.com (less T-shirt printing), more promotional item stuff. It looks like a wonderful tool…hope to be incorporating into our websites soon.
i have requested JP to have you guys incorporate drop down pricing menus, so that our customer can select qnty/price. we do digital printing, offset printing and tshirt printing. we would like to see, like Duane S. above says,
to cater towards other items such as posters, fyers, door hangers, banners. you guys have a very good design studio software, which can easily incorporate some of the items we sell. but drop down quantity/price is a must for our customers to select correct price with quanity, which seems not that difficult for you guys in include….
if you’ll can do that, i can switch today to inksoft.
please consider this and let me know if this can/will happen or not..
your design tool is awesome!
please someone respond to my query.
Great job, excited!!!!
Thanks!!! We’ve worked very hard on this and can’t wait to release it.

Looks Great!!! Cant Wait!!!
Hopefully the embedded design studio is getting some updates too.
I would love to see the ability to directly download a “complete” mock-up directly from the studio without having to email it and save from there.
